Compassion first
Every animal is treated as an individual — known, named and cared for with patience and respect.
About Us
Care, dignity and a safe place to live.
Vijayalaxmi Gaushala & Foundation exists to protect cows and, through them, to protect nature, humanity and culture.
Our story
How the journey began
The journey of Vijayalaxmi Gaushala & Foundation began with a simple belief — every cow deserves care, dignity and a safe place to live.
What started with a desire to support cows in need has grown into a commitment to provide food, shelter, medical care and protection to abandoned, injured and elderly cattle. From that first act of kindness, a small sanctuary took shape in the hills of Sindhudurg — a place where a frightened, ageing or hurt animal can simply be safe.
This is a young organisation still writing its story. We share our beginning honestly, without claiming milestones we have not yet reached.
